Indische Wachsnüsse: Der Seifennussbaum (sapindus mukorossi) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Familie der Seifenbaumgewächse. Die als "Meeresnuss" bekannte Frucht wird in Indien traditionell zum Waschen von Kleidung und Haaren verwendet. Zum Waschen werden die Nüsse geknackt und die Schalen in einem Baumwollbeutel in die Trommel gelegt. Die Seife ist ähnlich wie ein Weichspüler. Nach dem Waschen ist die Kleidung geschmeidig und sicher nicht hart. Seifennoten setzen keine duftenden Substanzen frei. Verwendung: Seifenkerne können auch als allgemeiner Haushaltsreiniger, zur Tierpflege, zum Haarwaschen und für die Spülmaschine verwendet werden.
